St. Louis Announces Winners of City’s Business Awards

St. Louis has announced winners of the city’s annual business awards, which were presented Friday at the Mayor’ Business Celebration luncheon.
The city gave the Businesses of the Year awards, for firms that made special commitments or investments in the city, to the following: Baileys’ Restaurants, Bissinger’s Handcrafted Chocolatier, Chemline Inc., Freddie Lee’s Gourmet Sauces, GadellNet, Simms Building Group, Tao + Lee Associates.
It gave the EcoExcellence award to Better Life.
The following were named Neighborhood Businesses of the Year, firms in each of the city’s 28 wards: Creative Touch Barber & Beauty Salon (1st ward), Veasley’s TLC Development Center (2), Tractor Trailer Supply Co. (3), Martin’s Market (4), Blackmun Footcare LLC (5), Moulin Events & Meetings (6), Stars Design Group (7), Ices Plain & Fancy (8), Sidney Street Cafe (9), G&W Bavarian Sausage Co (10), RE Source LLC (11), R.A. Guinner Plumbing Co. (12), Dorm-in-a-Box (13), Chauvin Coffee Co. (14), Gelateria Del Leone (15), Mathew’s Kitchen (16), Rise Coffee (17), Midtown Tire & Auto (18), The Dark Room Wine Bar (19), 20 Sump Coffee (20), New Carrie’s Corner Market (21), Upsilon Omega Foundation (22), Andre’s Ribs – Julie’s Way (23), Chris’ Pancake & Dining (24), Urban Buds: City Grown Flowers (25), Family Love Adult Day Health Care (26), Regal Meat Market (27), and Piccione Pastry (28).
The city presented Developers/Developments of the Year awards to the following: 700 Market Building, CSTK St. Louis, Ikea St. Louis, International Institute of St. Louis, Shriners Hospitals for Children-St. Louis, St. Louis Dental Education & Oral Health Clinic, and Union Station Phase I.
The city presented the Quality of Life Award, for those improving life in the city, to: Hawthorn Leadership School for Girls, IFF and Ranken Technical College
The Mayor’s Award, given to those who spurred local economic development, went to: Contractor Loan Fund, Denny Coleman, Jill McGuire, Walter Metcalfe, Vince Schoemehl.
